Have you ever had a rock stuck in your shoe while walking? Did you continue to walk with the  discomfort of having a rock in your shoe, or did you stop to remove the rock before continuing to walk? If you’re anything like me, you stopped to get rid of the rock because it hurt.

I want to help you get rid of those figurative rocks in your shoes so you can continue walking   through your life journey without that discomfort or pain. My passion is helping individuals and families heal from painful past learning that is causing distress and dysfunction in the here and now. I have experience helping people who present with a variety of struggles, such as: trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, parenting, relational/communication issues, setting boundaries, maladaptive behaviors, and relationship challenges.

I think the relationship between a therapist and their client is the biggest indicator of success, therefore, I focus on building a strong rapport with my clients, making sure the client knows they are supported and validated. I am here to walk this journey with you, to be a guide and a   support. This is your therapy, and so my focus is on what you need and want and not my agenda.  I hope that you will feel heard and respected. I am deeply passionate about what I do.

I practice from a trauma-informed lens, which means I approach therapy with a sense of curiosity. I want to know more about what happened to you that contributed to the issues that  you are currently struggling with. I work to maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic  environment for my clients. Though processing and healing from painful past experiences can  be daunting, clients will often experience a truly remarkable shift in emotions, behaviors, and  thoughts by the end of the process.

I also use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Post Induction Therapy for trauma and relationship issues. The premise of Post Induction Therapy is that childhood trauma (defined as anything less than nurturing) is the origin of developmental immaturity.

My Story

I knew that I wanted to be a therapist since I was 17 years old. This was because I experienced a lot of challenges and dysfunction myself in my own family system. I have worked hard through the years to understand these issues and to process through my own challenges. I can relate to others in similar situations, which is why I have such a passion for doing the work I do. Life is difficult, and no one is perfect. We all have our problems and sometimes it can be really helpful to have a neutral person to help us sort through these things. It can be very intimidating to take the first step to asking for help and guidance, however, putting in the effort to make changes in ourselves and our lives is worthwhile and rewarding. I feel very blessed to be able to walk with people in their journey and assist them in finding out who they are and what they need.
